Who is responsible
This website, kite-mood.com, is run by KiteMood Marsa Alam, an IKO kitesurfing school on the lagoon in Marsa Alam, Egypt. We are responsible for the personal information described here.

The short version
- We collect personal details only when you send an enquiry through the form on the contact page.
- The site sets no cookies of its own and has no analytics or tracking scripts.
- Spam protection, the live wind box and the map contact outside services, and only when you use them.
- You can ask us to show, correct or delete what we hold about you.
What the enquiry form collects
When you send the form, we receive your name, email address, interest, preferred dates, kitesurfing level and message, plus a phone number if you type one in.
The email we receive also shows the page you sent it from, the time, your IP address and your browser type, and Google's spam score if reCAPTCHA is on. We use these details to reply to you and to spot spam and abuse.
Why we use it and how it reaches us
We use your details to answer your enquiry and, if you go ahead, to plan your lessons or equipment hire. The site has no newsletter sign-up and no user accounts.
When you press Send message, our server hands your message to Amazon SES (Amazon Simple Email Service), which delivers it by email to the KiteMood team. Messages you send us directly on WhatsApp or by email are handled by those services under their own terms.
How long we keep it
Your enquiry stays in the team's mailbox for as long as we need it to deal with your request and any booking that follows. We set no fixed period, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
To protect the form from abuse, the server also keeps two small technical records. A short log of events such as "message sent" or "blocked as spam" holds the time and IP address but not your name, email or message, and is replaced automatically as it fills up. Counters that limit how often the form can be used, and a marker that stops a double click sending a message twice, use a coded version of your details and are cleared within a few hours.
Spam protection with Google reCAPTCHA
To keep bots out, the form can use Google reCAPTCHA. When it is switched on, Google's script loads only when you first click or tap into the form. Google receives details such as your IP address and browser behaviour to decide whether you are a person, our server passes your IP address to Google when it checks the result, and Google may store cookies for this. Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.
Other services you may meet on the site
These contact an outside service only in the situations described.
Live wind box
On the home page and the wind forecast page, a box shows the wind at our lagoon. As it scrolls into view, your browser asks Open-Meteo for the data, so Open-Meteo can see your IP address and browser details. The request names our lagoon, not your location. The kite size calculator runs only in your browser.
Google Maps
Maps stay closed until you press Show map. Only then does Google Maps load, and Google can see your IP address and may set cookies under its own policy. Open in Google Maps is an ordinary link.
WhatsApp and social media
Links to WhatsApp and our social profiles are ordinary links. We use no share buttons or embedded feeds. If you follow a link, you leave our site and that service's own privacy policy applies.
Photos, fonts and videos
These come from our own website, not a third party. A video plays only when you press play.
Cookies and analytics
The site sets no cookies of its own and has no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. The Google services above may set their own cookies when you use them.
Server logs
Our site is delivered by a hosting provider whose servers keep basic logs of visits, typically the IP address, time, page requested and browser type, for security and to keep the site running. We do not use them for analytics, and the provider's own policy decides how long they are kept.
Your rights
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Write to info@kitemood.com from the address you used and we will reply.
Children
The enquiry form is meant for adults. If a child would like to take lessons, a parent or guardian should contact us. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information through the site. If you think a child has sent us details, tell us and we will delete them.
Changes to this policy
We update this page when the site or the way we handle information changes. This policy was last updated on 12 October 2026.
